| A photo-realist painter who lives in Austin, Texas, Bob Wade depicts vintage photos of early 20th-century western scenes.
He
was born in Austin to a family that included Roy Rogers, his second
cousin. He earned a bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the
University of Texas and his Master's Degree from the University of
California at Berkeley where he was an art professor for eleven years.
He
has had three fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and
has created a traveling exhibition titled "Hand Painted Photographs:
1839 to Present." Collectors include members of the Royal Family in
Monaco, the Santa Fe Museum of Fine Arts, and the Buffalo Bill
Historical Center in Cody, Wyoming. |
