Bruce Walters was born in Davenport, Iowa in 1954. He received an MFA degree in Art from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1984 and a BA in Art from the University of Iowa in 1977.

From 1984-1996, Walters was a professor of art at Marycrest International University. He served as Chairperson of the Communications, Fine and Performing Arts Division, 1991-1997. He was also the Co-Director of the Eberdt Art Gallery, on Marycrests campus. From 1997 to the present, Walters is a professor of art at Western Illinois University. He also has served on several boards including the Iowa Arts Council and Davenport Museum of Art.

His work has been included in more than eighty competitive, invitational and solo exhibitions - primarily in Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin. He has won Best of Show awards (most recently at the 2001 Rock Island Fine Arts Exhibition at Augustana College - $1000 award) in three different media graphite drawings, painting and digital artwork. His full-scale drawing of an M-1 Tank (32 in length) was featured on a CNN report. His online portfolio is at www.qc-art.com/bruce.
