He was born in 1884 in Lumparland at Aaland Islands in Finland. His name was Karl Anders Ruben Gustafsson Jansson and he took the name Carl Ruben Walline when he arrived in the USA in 1901. He never go back to Finland but often send cards and small boxes with paints and other nice things back to Lumparland. Here in Lumparland he has always been called Uncle Ruben, he was the brother of my father's mother.
