| "Carrie Angeline Harper was a designer, illustrator and watercolorist, born in Detroit in 1875 and active in Cleveland (Cuyahoga) from 1894, when she exhibited with the Water Color Society of Cleveland, until 1900. After graduating in 1895 from the Cleveland School of Art, she spent a year at the School of Applied Design in New York City, then taught decorative design at the School of Art until he marriage, in 1900 to Dr. John E. White, a physician. She assisted in her husband's tuberculosis work in Idaho and Colorado until 1925, when she began painting again , in Texas, after his retirement.
