| | Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada on Sept. 16, 1861. Watkins studied art at the AIC; in Paris under Simon, Menard, Miller, and Dauchez; with Brangwyn in London; and Sorolla in Madrid. She worked in Woodstock, NY during WWI and was active in Los Angeles from 1921. She lived in San Francisco for a few years around 1930 and then returned to Los Angeles where she remained until her demise on April 6, 1947.
