| Born in Quebec, Canada in 1943, Charles displayed a very early interest in art by drawing wildlife in pencil and ink at age six. By age twelve he was painting landscapes in oils and had sales of his work throughout his teenage years.
Deciding to further his artistic talents and business skills at Brigham Young University, he graduated with a B.A. in 1967. With a career spanning more than 50 years and the creation of over 8000 originals, he has painted garden and landscapes scenes intended to capture nature’s essence by mastering the radiant interplay of light and shadow while infusing natures beauty with a sense of tranquility and serenity.
With the intention of inviting the viewer into a world of tranquil beauty and timeless elegance, Charles White uses a time-consuming technique to create a luminous multi-layered work. that invites the viewer into a world of tranquil beauty and timeless elegance.
Charles White's reproductions are marketed by Hadley House publishing, the Bradford Exchange, Pine Ridge Art, Taylor Cards, Cathedral Press, and the National Wildlife Federation.
Participating in one-man shows around the country, White has demonstrated at the Art Expo in New York, the ABC Show in Atlanta and ArtLink 2000 in Orlando. He also conducts lectures and workshops, has produced an instructional video and teaches classes in oils and acrylics every week to share his experience and techniques with other artists. In between he manages to create between 30 and 40 paintings each year.
