Charles Jones Way RCA, SCA (1835 – 1919)
Charles Jones Way (AKA: C.J. Way) was an artist his whole adult life,
and he painted until the day he died (1). He resided in Canada for a
total of only 17 of his 83 years; yet, he was considered a prominent
Canadian painter, draftsman, educator and leader in the Canadian art
community for half a century. For over 50 years he exhibited with
Canada’s most prestigious art organizations; he helped formulate art
