| Born in Dayton, Ohio on December 28, 1876, Charlotte Phillips spent her childhood in Seattle. After graduating from Stanford in 1898, she continued her art studies with George Luks in New York City. Shortly after the turn of the century, her married name was Schneider but she soon married Lewis H. Waldron and moved to Berkeley where she taught at the CCAC. Her last 12 years were spent in Los Altos, California where she died on March 18, 1966.
