| Born on the Isle of Wight, England on March 9, 1898. Winslade immigrated to the U.S. in 1924. In 1934 she wed artist Oswald Kurman and settled in Millbrae near San Francisco. She studied at the CSFA and was most active as an artist during the 1930s and 1940s. During WWII she sketched and painted servicemen at the USO. The Kurmans made two trips to Europe and in 1970 settled in Santa Cruz, CA where she remained until her demise on Oct. 26, 1973. Her unique style often imbued inanimate objec (showing 500 of 2505 characters). |
