This information is gleaned from a death notice and article appearing in the Milwaukee Journal, Dec. 26, 1972:
Dudley Crafts Watson was born in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, and attended school in Chicago. He studied chemical engineering at Armour Institute until the president of that institute advised him to quit and study art. He attended the School of the Art Institute, joined the faculty there, and moved to Milwaukee in 1912. He was offered the job as Director of the Milwaukee Art Society i (showing 500 of 1765 characters). |
