| Duke Wellington was born in Kansas on August 9, 1896. He studied at Kansas State College, the Los Angeles Art Center, the Art Students League. Pupil of Eliot O’Hara, Edgar A. Whitney, Hayward Veal, Doel Reed, Alice Harold Murphy, Reed Schmickle, and Joseph Fleck. Worked as art director for the Texas Theatre in San Antonio, 1924-26, the Paramount Theatres, 1927-36, and National Screen Service in Los Angeles, 1946-56, and for NBC/KOAM Educational TV from 1966-67.
