The following is from Michael O'Malley:

Elsie Wilde, of New Jersey, also kept a studio in Rockport, where she showed regularly with the Rockport Art Association in the thirties and forties. She was well known for landscapes, still lifes, and portraits, which she worked in watercolour and oil.

Most of her work is traditional, representational, but she executed a
fair number of nonrepresentational, abstract pieces in the 1960s.

According to Peter Falk in Who's Who in American Art, Wilde studied at the Art Students League in New York and became a fashion artist.
