Born in Illinois, Emily White lived in Peoria in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and there had a studio on North Jefferson Street at the corner of Hamilton Boulevard with her sister, Nona White. There they painted for themselves and also gave lessons including china painting, oil and watercolor painting. In 1907, Emily moved to California with Nona, and died in 1929, eight years before Nona.
