| In 1982, Emily Wilson received her B.F.A. from the Memphis Academy of Arts. It was only after the discovery of Mexican folk art figures that she decided to pursue graduate study in wood at the Appalachian Center for Crafts in Smithville, Tennessee, where she currently resides.
Her sculpture is a compilation of sanding, priming and seamless integration of carved basswood pieces upon an equally intricate steel wire armature. Frequently representing flora, fauna and other asp (showing 500 of 800 characters). |
