Erwin Wurm (born 1954)
Born in 1954 in Bruck and der Mur in Austria, Wurm lives in Vienna and New York. He creates sculptures, drawings, video art, installations and photographs. Since the late 1980s he has developed an ongoing series of "One Minute Sculptures," in which he poses himself or his models in unexpected, often absurd, whimsical or even dangerous relationships with everyday objects, prompting the viewer to question the very definition of sculpture.
