| | Born in Kansas on Dec. 7, 1903. Wilhite moved to southern California with his family in 1910 and settled in Compton. During the 1930s he studied and painted with other members of the Spectrum Club in Long Beach. A chiropractor, he became a competent amateur painter before a fatal heart attack in Compton on Nov. 23, 1960. | Source:
