| Flavia Weedn grew up in Los Angeles during the Post-Depression years. As a child she developed a love of color and design from her mother who was a doll maker. But it was her young uncle, Jack, who sparked her development as an artist.
Of him, she said: "His great love of life led me to see the same wonder and beauty he found in the ordinary, and to share the same joy he found in the writings of the great romantic poets."
Flavia Weedn has had a prolific career as an illustrator and artist for over fifty years. Her subjects often focus on the relationships between families, friends, and loved ones. She is noted as a greeting-card illustrators. |
