Born in Brooklyn, Frances Wood studied in New York at the Pratt Institute in New York from 1919-1920 and the Art Students League from 1922-1926. Her instructors at the League were Boardman Robinson, Thomas Benton, Max Weber, Kimon Nicolaides.
She painted mothers and children, sometimes in an abstract style. She was a colorist, and she also did Biblical subjects. She used many different mediums such as oil, watercolor, casein, cray (showing 500 of 1748 characters). |
