Fredrick Theodore Weber was born in Columbia, South Carolina, a descendant of a German family that came to the state in the middle of the 1700s well before the American Revolution. Weber had close family ties to Columbia but his father's business interest and travels, which allowed young Fredrick to be educated in Europe, and his life as a successful artist in New York, never caused Weber to lose contact (showing 500 of 3341 characters). |
