| Gladys Lee Wiles was the daughter of artist, Irving Wiles (1861-1948)
and the grand-daughter of Lemuel Wiles (1826-1905). In addition
to studying with her father, Gladys Wiles studied with Kenyon Cox and
William Merritt Chase.
In 1934, she became an Associate at the National Academy of
Design. Wiles was a member of the National Association of Women
Painters & Sculptors, Allied Artists of America, American Artists
Professional League and the New York Society of Painters.
She is represented in the Womens Museum in Washington, D.C. |
