Harold Wind was born in Brooklyn in 1917. He studied at New York University and Pratt Institute. He painted mainly in watercolors and pastels. He exhibited at the American Watercolor Society, Hudson Valley Art Association, Allied Artists of America, National Arts Club. Pastel Society of America and Grand Central Galleries. He has had numerous one person show and served as a jury member for a number of exhibtions.
