Born in New Brunswick, Canada on Sept. 13, 1897. Wolhaupter studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy and the PAFA. In 1922 she moved to Los Angeles and became active in the local art scene. In 1932 she wed writer Maurice Kelly. She later settled in Tucson, AZ where she remained until her death in February 1978. Member: Buffalo Society of Artists; Louis C. Tiffany Foundation. Exh: Calif. WC Society, 1923-27; LA Co. Fair, 1929; Calif. Art Club, 1933; Webb Gallery (LA), 1938.

Helen Phillips Wolhaupter , landscape painter, was a resident of Santa Monica and Hollywood, California, in the 1920s and 1930s. She exhibited in the 1927 California Watercolor Society, and the Los Angeles County Fair, 1929. She is listed in Moure, Southern California Artists, 1932; and Pettey's Dictionary of Women Artists-An International Dictionary of Women Artists born before 1900.

Helen Phillips Wolhaupter (1897-1978) was born in St John, New Brunswick, Canada on September 13, 1897. She studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. After moving to Los Angeles in 1922, she became active in the local art scene. In 1932 she married writer Maurice Kelly, and later settled in Tucson, AZ where she remained until her death in February 1978.

Member: Buffalo Society of Artists; California Watercolor Society; Louis C. Tiffany Foundation.

Exhibited: California Watercolor Society, 1927; Los Angeles County Fair, 1929.
