| A portrait and silhouette painter from Indianapolis, Indiana, Hilah Wheeler was a watercolorist who also created garden scenes and still lifes. She studied at the Art Students League with Frank DuMond and Walter Appleton Clark and in Europe with William Merritt Chase.
