A native of Texas who settled in Loveland, Colorado, Hollis Williford
became a sculptor and painter of western figures. He began his
study at the University of Texas at Arlington and finished with a
degree from the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles.
He worked for a brief period as a freelance illustrator and then moved
to Colorado to dedicate himself to easel painting, charcoal drawing and
bronze sculpture. Twice he won the Prix de West competition, and
