This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Even as a baby, Miss Weeden was called "Howard". She was born in 1847 and died in 1905. She lived her entire life in Huntsville, Alabama on Gates Avenue. Her work(s) are on display at the Weeden House Museum and The Burritt Museum. She used her work to illustrate her books of Negro dialect inspired poetry. She had close ties with Nashville, TN, and some of her work was sold in Germany by a gallery once located near the Brandenberg Gate.
