Born 1922 in Auburn, Indiana, Hugh Wiley is an oil painter in abstract style. He has also been an art educator and muralist, having completed 19 murals with commissions in Mexico City; New York City; Philadelphia; Washington DC.; Hartford, Conntecticut; Newark, New Jersey; and Oakland and Willits, California.
He began painting seriously at the age of ten. After graduating from high school in Auburn, he attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. He served in the army until March 1945 (showing 500 of 1538 characters). |
