Muralist and painter Isabel Lydia Whitney was born in 1878 in Brooklyn, New York and traveled widely including Taos, New Mexico in the 1920s, and as a student in Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy and Russia. She also studied at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and took lessons from Arthur Dow, Hayley Lever, and Howard Pyle.,
