From Philadelphia, Jane Byrd McCall Whitehead was a floral and botanic painter in watercolor and pastels and a potter, which has been described as her great passion. In collaboration with her husband in 1908, she established the marketing company of White Pines Pottery, whose works involved much experimentation with methods and expression of their love of classic Oriental patterns.
She married Ralph Whitehead, founder of the Byrdcliffe Colony at Woodstock, New York, and devoted much (showing 500 of 5978 characters). |
