| | Portrait painter. Born in Detroit, Ml in 1864. Wheeler studied at the PAFA and in Paris at Academies Julian and Courtois. She was a resident of Philadelphia from 1898-1931 and then moved to Long Beach, CA where she was active for several years. She died in Philadelphia on Oct. 25, 1945. Member: Philadelphia Alliance; AFA. Exh: PAFA, 1901 (prize); Philadelphia Art Club, 1902 (gold medal); Louisiana Purchase Expo (St Louis), 1904 (silver medal).
