| Born in Muscatine, IA on Nov. 30, 1860. Washburn settled in Los Angeles in the 1890s. In 1909 she and California artist Fannie Duvall shared an apartment in Paris while studying with Auburtin. Returning to southern California, she studied with Elizabeth Borglum and was active in the art scenes in Laguna Beach and Los Angeles. A spinster, she died in the latter on Jan. 2, 1942.
