Biography from Trailside Galleries - WY:
| Born and raised in California, Kathy Wipfler has called Jackson, Wyoming home since 1978, drawn to the open spaces and the spectacular scenery of the region. Kathy finds beauty not only in the landscapes but in such scenes as driving cattle and harvesting hay, activities she experienced first hand while on location. Her canvas captures a sense of place and an emotional attachment to the scene.
In an interview with "Southwest Art" magazine, Kathy notes, “There’s no excuse for not going to the source – if you are a landscapist, you go to the spot”. An instructor with the Scottsdale Artist’s School and a regular exhibitor at the Western Visions Miniature show since 1978, Kathy Wipfler has work included in the permanent collection of the Kriendler Gallery of Contemporary Art at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. |
