This biography from the Archives of AskART:
A painter and art dealer specializing in contemporary art, Kirk Wilkinson spent much of his career in New York City but also lived at Wellfleet, Massachusetts.   He studied watercolor painting at the Parson's School of Design,  with Felice Waldo Howell, and from 1931 to 1932 taught graphics at Parson's.

He served in New York City as art director at Country Life, American Home Magazine, (1935-36); House Beautiful Magazine, New York, 1936-37; for Condé Nast, 1937-39; Women's Day Magazine, 1938-70.  He was president and organizer of the Parson's School Design Alumni Council, 1944 and was owner, Kendall Art Gallery.

He was author of "Letters's Talk About Your Pictures," in Popular Photography 4/1954; "Lighting is the News," 10/1959 & "The New Thinking Man," 2/1962, Art Direction.

Art Director Club New York, 1934-; Art Director Club Philadelphia, 1954 & 1956; Jr. League Westchester annual, 1966-69; Westchester Art Association annual, 1969; Cape Cod Art Association annual, 1970-72;  Scarborough Art Gallery, Scarborough, New York, 1970s. Awards: gold medal, New York Art Director Club, 1954; gold medal, Philadelphia Art Director Club; second prize watercolor, Jr. League Westchester Show, 1969.
