Obituary. New York Times, January 3, 1959:
Springfield, Mass. January 2, 1959 Miss Mabel R. Welch, a painter of miniatures, died last night at her home in Wibraham after a long illness. She was 87 years old.
Miss Welch, who studied at the Art Students League and in Paris, won the Silver Medal of the Pan-Pacific Exposition in 1915. The Pennsylvania Society of Miniature Painters presented to her its Medal of Honor in 1920, and she received a similar award in 1933 f (showing 500 of 2369 characters). |
