| | Born in Paradise, KS on Nov. 11, 1878. Waite moved to California with her family in 1882. After obtaining her teaching degree from UC Berkeley, she settled in Long Beach where she was art director in the public schools from 1903-37. A spinster, she died there on Jan. 11, 1945.
