Mark Wheeler painted in Alaska full-time for thirty years, (1967 to 1997) primarily painting watercolors of historic buildings and several murals
in acrylics around the state.

From his home in Ketchikan, AK he also wrote, illustrated, and published "Half Baked Alaska" (160 pages) once described as "that Alaskanistic humoriferous
triviology". Wheeler was a prolific cartoonist producing cartoon maps of Ketchikan, Prince of Wales Island, and other places, and created numerous newspape (showing 500 of 819 characters).
