Biography from AskART:
Born in San Francisco, CA on May 7, 1911, the daughter of Gottardo Piazzoni.  Mireille was first taught to paint by her father and later attended the CSFA for four years under Macky, Albright, Randolph, and Stackpole.  In 1937 she wed artist Philip R. Wood.  She was a lifelong resident of her native city.  Her style is influenced by the Post-Impressionists with Fauvist reflections.
