| Born in Carmel, CA on April 2, 1910. A child prodigy, at age 11 Wallace earned money to study with Fred Gray at the Carmel Arts & Crafts Club; at 13 she had 24 drawings in the San Francisco Chronicle. Educated at the Dominican Convent in San Rafael, she then studied art in San Francisco with Armin Hansen and Maurice Sterne. During the 1920s she worked for Foster & Kleiser (billboards). In 1941 she wed Guthrie Courvoisier, founder of the plastic arts firm "Couroc." During the later part of (showing 500 of 828 characters). |
