| | Born in NYC on March 3, 1904. Wortman earned his degree in architecture at Columbia University. During the 1930s he lived in Chicago where he designed mausoleums and taught etching at the AIC. He came to San Francisco as one of the many designers for the GGIE and decided to stay. After WWII he went to work for Kaiser Engineers and was head architect upon retirement. He made his home in Oakland until his demise on Aug. 4, 1993.
