| | Born in Connecticut on Aug. 8, 1849. Whipple moved to California in 1888 and settled in Oakland at 1320 Webster. For 20 years he taught drawing at the School for the Deaf in Berkeley. He died of a heart attack in Oakland on Feb. 12, 1908. | Source:
