Nelson D. Wilson (1880-1950)
A well known local artist and decorator, and also dubbed the dean of Southern Indiana artists, Nelson D. Wilson studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Chicago. He later did private work with well known painters in California and with C. Curry Bohm at his Brown County Studio.
He began exhibiting his work in 1922 at the John Herron Art Institute. For a number of years he exhibited at the Hoosier Salon in Chica (showing 500 of 1696 characters). |
