This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Recognized as one of the most committed historians of St. Louis history, Norbury Wayman drew with mixed media, watercolor, and pencil hundreds of pictures and maps. His work was very detailed and precise, and his most ambitious project was a three by nine foot aerial panorama painting of the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair.
He worked for three years on the project, studying images from many angles including from the top of the Ferris Wheel and the top of the Fair's observation tower. HIs goal was to show the size and shape of the event. After the Fair, there was little opportunity to exhibit the work, so the artist held onto it.
