Born in 1878 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, he studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree. Whitney later taught at the University of Pennsylvania School of Fine Art, from which he retired in 1936. Exhibitions:
