A watercolorist and commercial artist, Rene Weaver was born in Pocatello, Idaho, and spent his early career in Portland, Oregon working for an advertising agency, and then moved to California. He graduated from the University of Idaho and studied figure and landscape painting with Emil Jacques in Portland.
In 1936, he settled in San Francisco and for 24 years worked for the Thompson Advertising Agency. He had a painting studio at Sansome and Market streets in the Flatiron Building, and h (showing 500 of 906 characters). |
