| | Born in Madera, CA on Nov. 8, 1905. Windrem studied art at UC Berkeley where he served as art editor for the Daily Californian (the campus newspaper). He worked as a commercial artist in San Francisco and Oakland throughout his career while devoting his leisure to landscape painting and printmaking. During WWII he worked in the Richmond (CA) shipyards and in 1946 moved to Washington where he later took up painting in oil and acrylic. He was active as an artist until the mid-1970s. He died in Vancouver, WA in March 1985.
