Robert Francis Williams (1881-1972) Twentieth Century American Impressionist
He was born in Manhattan in 1881. When Williams showed an interest in drawing as a child, his father encouraged his talent. And in 1899, he sent Williams to study with noted American painter and teacher William Merritt Chase at The New York School of Art.
