Robert E. Wade, born 1882, studied art in Boston and Europe and worked as a mural designer and colorist with the Boston architectural firms of Cram & Ferguson and Allen Hall & Co. Among his works were the mural paintings for the Robinson Chapel of the Boston School of Theology, paintings in the Chapel of Emanuel Church in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, and ceiling paintings for Shove Memorial Chapel on the campus of Colorado College.
