| A sculptor, painter, and grandson of architect Stanford White, Robert White was known for creating the statue of General John J Pershing at Pershing Park in Washington DC. He taught art at the Parsons School of Design from 1949-1952, at the School of the University of New York at Stony Brook from 1967 to 1987, and from 1969 to 1970, was artist-in-residence at the American Academy in Rome. He was also an illustrator whose clients included Harper's Magazine",
