Biography from Greenleaf Gallery:
Ron Wagner, a dry-brush watercolorist, was born 1941 in North Central Minnesota. Moving to California, he attended University at San Jose State where he trained as a water-colorist. In 1972, he worked as a graphic designer, but left this day job to pursue his career as an artist.

He claims his style of work is a "Strange mixture of the archaic and the innovative". He never looked back after leaving his graphic- designer job.

His still life subjects are drawn from models. Field landscapes are non--structured perspectives. His hobbies are scupture and fishing. Ron has built an 820 square foot two-story house and is restoring a vintage automobile. He carves all the large fish he catches.

He built the port wing of a 1930's vintage aircraft. He believes these are some of the most artistic experiences of his career. When he is not drawing or painting, he is in a boat on the California River.

Recently he was one of six artists selected for the opening the of Napa Valley Museum.
