| Russell Eberle White was born in California on Dec. 19, 1921. White was a pupil of John Hilton whose influence is seen in his works. His forte was stylistic landscapes of the desert around Palm Springs, many with smoke trees and cacti. He died in Los Angeles on Dec. 12, 1987.
