| From Charleston, South Carolina, Sabina Wells was a potter and oil painter, who lived in New Orleans from 1902 to 1904 when she studied pottery making and design at Newcomb College. Then she left to work in a pottery in Baltimore and then returned to Charleston. However, she kept her ties to New Orleans as she continued to send pottery and paintings to exhibitions there as well as to St. Louis for the Louisiana Purchase Exposition and to San Francisco for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition.
